Tutorials

The SC06 Tutorials program gives attendees the opportunity to learn from internationally recognized experts on a broad range of topics related to
high performance computing, networking and storage. Twenty-six tutorials were selected from 72 highly competitive proposals.
There are 14 full-day and 12 half-day tutorials, covering introductory to advanced material. Six offer hands-on learning opportunities.
Topics include:
- programming and management of parallel, distributed, cluster and grid systems
- high performance and parallel I/O and file systems
- application development, algorithms, and numerical methods
- new technologies, architectures, and networking
- program development, performance analysis and optimization tools and techniques
- computer security
- visualization
Separate registration is required for tutorials. Attendees can choose a one-day or two-day passport, allowing them to move freely between tutorials on the specified days. Tutorial notes (choice of CD or hardcopy) and luncheons are provided for each registered tutorial attendee.
For hands-on tutorials (S03, S04, S12, M04, M05, and M12), attendees are expected to bring their own laptops and have SSH software installed. The tutorial rooms provide wired network drops, ethernet cables, and power drops, but there will be no computer support available. Please arrive early, as there may be tutorial-specific software to install on your laptop.
What you learn just might lead to your next flash of brilliance!
