SC06 attendee housing registration is now open. Book your rooms early to be assured of the best locations and room rates!
1.1 WHY STAY AT A CONFERENCE HOTEL?
In addition to being at the center of conference activity, our discount hotel rates were negotiated based on the number of expected attendees. If those rooms aren't filled, the conference has to pay for the unused space. Also, a better room record for this year allows us to negotiate even better rates for attendees in the future. So please support the conference by staying at a conference hotel and make sure they know you're in Tampa for SC06!
1.2 Making Reservations
Locations of SC06 Conference hotels
Spreadsheet showing hotel rates and amenities
To take advantage of the SC06 Conference rates, register through the online housing registration. Alternatively, send the Hotel Room Request Form directly to the SC06 Housing Bureau via email, fax, or surface mail (see addresses below).
Be sure to book your reservation by October 6, 2006. After that date, the official SC06 room blocks will be released and the hotels may charge significantly higher rates.
The last day for changing reservations through the SC06 Housing Bureau is October 30, 2006.
1.3 Where to Send Your Reservation
If you choose to use the Hotel Room Request Form rather than registering online, forms should be sent using one of the following mechanisms:
- Email the form to Housing@visittampabay.com
- Fax the form to the SC06 Housing Bureau at (813) 218-3369
- Mail the form to:
SC06 Housing Bureau
400 North Tampa Street, Suite 2800
Tampa, FL 33602
Only fully completed forms will be accepted. Do not send the form to the individual hotel, as this will only delay the processing of your request.
1.4 Room Rates/Taxes
The special SC06 rates are listed in the Spreadsheet showing hotel rates and amenities. They apply only to reservations booked by October 6, 2006. All rates are per room and are subject to 12% tax (subject to change). Special requests can not be guaranteed, although hotels will do their best to honor all requests. Hotels will assign specific room types upon check-in, based on availability.
Each reservation request requires a credit card guarantee of one night's room fee plus tax. No checks, cash or money orders will be accepted. Housing forms received without a valid credit card will be returned without processing. Credit cards must be valid through November, 2006 in order to be considered a proper guarantee. Credit Cards will not actually be charged prior to arrival date.
Rooms will be booked on a first come, first served basis. A confirmation will be sent for each reservation booking, modification, or cancellation review it carefully for accuracy. If you do not receive a confirmation via e-mail, fax, or mail within 10 days after any transaction, please contact the Housing Bureau via fax (813-218-3369) or send email.
You will not receive a confirmation from the hotel.
1.7 Multiple Room Reservations
Blocks of rooms may be reserved using Hotel Room Request Form prior to September 15, 2006. Multiple room reservations require that a housing list (with names and valid credit card information) be submitted by that date. Reserved blocks or portions of blocks for which that information is not available will revert to SC06 for use by other attendees.
Reservations can be modified or cancelled without penalty before October 6, 2006. After this date and up to 72 hours prior to arrival, cancellations will be subject to a $125 penalty. Any cancellations within 72 hours of arrival are subject to one night's room and tax penalty at your confirmed hotel. Do not contact the hotels directly until after October 30.
1.9 Shuttle Bus Service For Conference Hotels
The SC06 Conference will offer Complimentary shuttle bus service to the contracted SC06 Hotels (with exception to those hotels in the direct downtown area) during the length of the Technical Program week.
If you need help with your reservation or have additional questions, please send email.
